Sleep studies, also known as polysomnography, are the gold standard for diagnosing sleep apnoea. These tests monitor various physiological functions while you sleep, including brain activity, heart rate, breathing patterns, oxygen levels, and muscle movements. The goal is to detect interruptions in breathing that are characteristic of sleep apnoea.
Home sleep studies are a more convenient and less invasive way of investigating and diagnosing sleep apnoea. Complete Sleep Care works hand in hand with Ashford Cardiac and Sleep Clinic, which specializes in the assessment and management of sleep disorders under the supervision and care of highly experienced Sleep and Respiratory Physician, Dr Sanaz Lehman.
After the study, a sleep specialist reviews the data to determine the presence and severity of sleep apnoea and recommend appropriate treatment options. Home sleep studies for all eligible patients are bulk billed by Medicare.
Ashford Sleep Clinic conducts comprehensive home based sleep studies to diagnose snoring, obstructive and central sleep apnea, periodic leg movement disorder, bruxism, and insomnia. All home based sleep studies and consultations are bulk billed.
